Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to dismiss more than 10 district heads and city mayors
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference on additional measures to further expansion of investment attractiveness. The meeting reviewed the tasks of foreign investment usage planned at the beginning of the year.
Within the framework of this year's investment and regional programs, major milestones were set for the acquisition of a total of 20 billion dollars of foreign investments.
A positive experience in this regard was noted last six months in Andijan city, Buloqboshi, Romitan, Gallaorol, Forish, Karmana, Davlatabad, Chust, Kattakorgan, Sirdaryo districts, where more than 50 million dollars of direct investment was brought.
As a result, a total of 50,000 new jobs were created and additional income of 1 trillion soums appeared in these areas.
But in Amudarya, Kurghantepa, Bukhara, Mirishkor, Chirakchi, Khatyrchi, Payarik, Akolta, Gulistan, Akkorgan districts, Navoi and Yangil cities these indicators were criticised for their low level and unsatisfactory investment environment.
The President ordered to dismiss the mayors of these districts and cities.
The Prosecutor General's Office and the Chamber of Accounts were instructed to investigate the activities of these governors and ensure legality.
