Donald Trump invites Shavkat Mirziyoyev to join the Peace Council initiative
US President Donald Trump has sent an official invitation to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to join an international initiative aimed at strengthening peace and resolving conflicts in the Middle East, Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov said.
According to the letter, the initiative is based on a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, announced on 29 September 2025, supported by world leaders, and endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803, adopted on 17 November 2025.
A central element of the initiative is the establishment of a new international body, the Peace Council, intended to bring together countries willing to assume responsibility for building long-term peace, stability, and security.
Uzbekistan has been invited to join the Peace Council as a founding state.
In response, President Mirziyoyev sent a reply letter to his American counterpart, expressing Uzbekistan’s readiness to join the Peace Council as a founding member.
In his letter, the Uzbek leader emphasized that the initiative is seen as an important step toward resolving long-standing conflicts in the Middle East and ensuring peace and stability across the wider region.
