Khusanov delivered an unbelievable performance — Guardiola
Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw at home by Brighton in the 21st round of the English Premier League on Tuesday. Speaking after the match, City head coach Pep Guardiola singled out defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Max Alleyne for their performances.
“They played extremely well. Abdukodir was unbelievable. His long passes helped us a lot. He controlled the entire pitch. He will continue to develop. He needs to be more involved in building attacks, and that is only a matter of time. Today, he was the best player,” Guardiola said.
Guardiola also commented on Max Alleyne, who joined the squad shortly before the match.“Max arrived two days ago and had only one training session with us before the game. Of course, he had trained with us many times previously. I would like to thank Watford and Javi Gracia — they helped him grow as a footballer,” he added.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to win today’s match, but our victories are still ahead,” the coach concluded.
