Entry to Samarkand to be temporarily restricted
Access to Samarkand will be temporarily restricted due to the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported.
According to the ministry, the event will take place from 30 October to 14 November, during which temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced across the city.
The ministry emphasized that only certain entry routes to the city will be closed. Access will remain open for ambulances, emergency services, and special vehicles of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was noted that entry to the city during this period will be permitted only with a special pass. Detour routes have been arranged for vehicles traveling along transit roads.
Drivers will receive flyers containing QR codes, which can be used to view maps of the alternative routes.
Authorities have urged citizens to consider these changes when planning their trips and to show understanding regarding the temporary inconveniences.
