A presidential decree [PQ-43, dated February 7, 2025] “On measures to widely promote the creative legacy of the great poet and thinker Mir Alisher Navoi both within our country and globally” was issued. The decree also outlines measures to ensure the “Year of Alisher Navoi” is celebrated at a high level in the Navoi region. The Telegram channel “Huquqiy axborot” reported this.

According to the decree, in honor of the 584th anniversary of Alisher Navoiʼs birth, 2025 has been declared the ʼYear of Alisher Navoiʼ in the Navoi region.

A Republican Commission has been established to oversee the celebration, with an approved program aimed at deepening the study and widespread promotion of Navoiʼs legacy.

To advance the study of Navoiʼs heritage, scientific research will be conducted systematically in our country and abroad, and the results will be published widely. Additionally, new scientific, literary, and popular works will be created on this subject, and the works of foreign Navoi scholars and artists will be translated and published in Uzbek. These efforts were designated as one of the main tasks of the Republican Commission.

The “Alisher Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance” international symposium and Navoi-themed cultural events will be organized at the highest level.

Navoi State University will host an international scientific conference from October 10–15, 2025, focusing on “The Role of Alisher Navoiʼs Literary and Scientific Heritage in the Spiritual Educational Development of Mankind.“

Moreover, a nationwide competition titled ʼUnderstanding Hazrat Navoi – Understanding Ourselvesʼ will be organized, alongside ʼNavoi Eveningsʼ in educational institutions and local communities.
