Within the framework of the nationwide project " Yashil Makon " (Green Space), a large-scale program has been adopted to increase the level of greening in all regions up to 30%. For this purpose it was planned:

- to plant 15 million tree saplings during spring and autumn period in each region;

- to grow "green belts" from trees around all cities.

But some leaders were criticized for not taking program requirements seriously.  For example, 10 million saplings died as the result of planting in areas without irrigation systems. Planting of tree saplings along roads has not been done at all in 33 districts and cities.

The president  noted that one of the main tasks of heads will be to improve the environmental situation, to make comfortable living conditions and to create a clean air environment for people within the territory of their responsibility. 

Leaders of all systems and regions were instructed to reinforce promotion work on the improvement and greening of mahallas, neighbourhoods, settlements, high-rise buildings and courtyard areas.
