Supreme Commander-in-Chief ofthe Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev holds a meeting on strengthening Uzbekistan’s defense capability
On March 3, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander - in - Chief of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, chaired a meeting on strengthening the country’s defense capability.
The discussion focused on further strengthening the nation’s defense capabilities, ensuring military security, and reviewing progress in implementing the priority tasks outlined during the expanded Security Council meeting held on January 13 this year.
It was noted that tensions and conflict zones continue to persist around the world, geopolitical competition is intensifying, and the risk of new threats and challenges is growing. In the context of an unstable international situation, where military actions in certain regions are leading to serious humanitarian and economic consequences, strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and ensuring its security are of particular importance.
The Minister of Defense reported on ongoing efforts to increase the combat readiness of the troops, improve the operational training of units and subunits, equip them with modern weapons and military equipment, and develop the infrastructure of military -administrative sectors.
Particular attention was given to studying the advanced practices of developed countries and the lessons of modern combat operations, as well as introducing modern approaches to military command and training systems. In particular, it was emphasized that increasing the effectiveness of the troops requires the wider use of new technologies, including unmanned systems and digital command solutions.
Specific tasks were also set to modernize and further develop the infrastructure of military - administrative sectors, training grounds, educational institutions, and logistics support facilities in line with modern requirements.
Instructions were given to continue improving the system for training military personnel, strengthen scientific research activities, and expand programs aimed at mastering advanced weapons and technologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of State outlined additional tasks for the further development of the Armed Forces and the strengthening of the country’s defense capability.
