Uzbekistan and U.S. Presidents outline priority areas for strengthening strategic partnership

On September 23, negotiations took place between Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Donald Trump, President of the United States of America. The meeting was held at the UN headquarters on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly.
The leaders discussed current issues and priority areas for further expanding the Uzbekistan–U.S. strategic partnership.
They also exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues. The implementation of agreements reached during their telephone conversation on September 5 of this year was reviewed.
At the start of the meeting, President Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated President Trump on his significant achievements in domestic and foreign policy, noting his personal contribution and efforts towards resolving international and regional conflicts.
In turn, President Trump once again expressed his strong support for the irreversible reforms underway in New Uzbekistan, aimed at modernizing the economy, improving public welfare, and enhancing the country’s international standing.
Both sides noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of political dialogue and exchanges at various levels, as well as the intensification of business contacts between the two nations.
President Trump highly praised the fruitful outcomes of President Mirziyoyev’s recent meeting and negotiations with the heads of more than 50 major U.S. companies and banks.
A portfolio of contracts and promising projects has been developed in priority sectors such as civil aviation, mining, critical minerals, finance, innovation, chemicals, energy, and others.
The leaders noted that these initiatives are expected to create tens of thousands of new jobs in both countries.
At the conclusion of the talks, President Mirziyoyev invited President Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a time convenient for him.
The meeting between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States was held in an open, constructive, and friendly atmosphere.
