Uzbekistan holds talks with the EU on simplifying visa procedures
Uzbekistan has held talks with the European Union on simplifying visa procedures for Uzbek citizens, the Dunyo Information Agency reported.
The first round of negotiations was conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan with experts from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Home Affairs and Migration.
According to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on the possibility of simplifying visa procedures for citizens of Uzbekistan entering the EU for employment, study, truck driving, and for tourist groups.
The European side, in particular, outlined several conditions that need to be met before the issue of visa facilitation for Uzbek citizens is included on the agenda of the European Commission meeting.
At the end of the talks, the sides agreed to hold further consultations to expedite the achievement of the aforementioned objectives.
