Real-time ambulance tracking system launched in Tashkent
For the first time, the Republican Ambulance Center has implemented a system for real-time online monitoring of “103” ambulance crew movements, the Ministry of Health’s press service has announced.
Under the pilot project, residents of the capital can now track the real-time location of emergency medical teams and their estimated time of arrival at the call location.
The project is being implemented using a technological solution developed by Yandex Uzbekistan. The movements of the “103” teams can currently be tracked via an electronic map in a web browser, with plans to expand access through the Yandex Go mobile app in the near future.
After an emergency call is placed, the system automatically sends an SMS with a link to a live map that shows the brigade’s movement in real-time.
In the next phase of the project, users will receive push notifications through the Yandex Go app, providing updates on the ambulance’s location and estimated time of arrival. This information will also be accessible directly within the app.
“This innovation is primarily aimed at ensuring transparency within the ambulance system and easing the workload on dispatchers. At present, the solution is being used for emergency calls in Tashkent, but we plan to expand it further across the country,” said Abduvoitjon Gafurov, Director of the Republican Ambulance Center.
It was noted that the Republican Ambulance Center receives nearly 40,000 calls each day across the country, with 60 percent classified as urgent cases.
