“Dok-1 Max” case: Director of Quramax Medical Ragvendra Pratar sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment
The Tashkent City Court held the final court hearing in the "Dok-1 Max" case. In this case, 23 individuals working in the pharmaceutical industry answered the court.
Defendants include people who were in charge of inspecting the content of drugs including the Dok-1 Max syrup and other medications manufactured in India, which contain toxic substances, upon their entry into our country.
Due to the irresponsibility of the culprits, 86 children were injured who used the aforementioned drug. Of them, 68 have died, 16 have been seriously injured, and 2 have suffered minor injuries.
Following this unfortunate incident in the fall of 2022, the State Security Service initiated a criminal case and conducted an investigation.
Presiding over the hearing, Tashkent City Criminal Court Judge Musa Yusupov read out the court's decision.
Former Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency head Sardor Kariyev received an 18-year sentence, and Quramax Medical director Ragvendra Pratar was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. Amirkhan Azimov and Nodirbek Musayev, former deputy heads of the pharmaceutical agency, were sentenced to 16 years in prison.
These sentences are to be served in general-order colonies.
