Nine Uzbek universities listed in an international sustainability ranking
On 18 November, the results of the prestigious international higher education agency “QS Quacquarelli Symonds 2026” were released, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation reported.
This year’s ranking assessed nearly 2,000 universities worldwide, with nine higher education institutions from Uzbekistan included. Of these, three were included in the Top 1000 list.
Several universities improved their positions compared to last year, while some were listed for the first time.
The positions of Uzbekistan’s universities in the ranking are as follows:
- Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers National Research University – ranked 874th;·
- Tashkent State University of Economics – ranked 951st;
- National University of Uzbekistan – ranked 970th .
In addition, six more higher education institutions — Andijan State University, Samarkand State University, Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent State Transport University, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, and Urgench State University —were placed in the 1501+ group.
