Nearly $2 million in unpaid wages recovered for Uzbek migrant workers abroad
The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan recovered a total of $1.9 million in unpaid wages and compensation for Uzbek citizens working abroad in 2025.
According to official data, the agency reviewed 3,089 appeals related to unpaid salaries and various compensation claims, resulting in the recovery of the funds from foreign employers for the benefit of Uzbek nationals.
In addition, identity documents belonging to 406 citizens were retrieved from employers and intermediaries. Legal and advisory assistance was provided to 8,743 applicants.
The agency also facilitated the re-employment of 9,249 Uzbek citizens who had become unemployed abroad, providing practical support to help them continue their employment.
