Uzbekistanʼs army climbs 7 spots in Global Firepower ranking, but still not leader in Central Asia
The Global Firepower publication announced a new ranking evaluating armies of world countries. The ranking is based on more than 60 criteria, including the financial resources of the armed forces, logistics capabilities, and geographical characteristics. The Uzbek army demonstrated remarkable progress in these assessments.
Uzbekistan has advanced seven positions in this military strength index, securing the 58th position among 145 nations worldwide. This improvement reflects successful reforms and efforts to enhance the countryʼs military capabilities. Uzbekistanʼs rise to higher positions in the ranking has gained international recognition.
Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan ranks 57th, placing it one position higher than Uzbekistan. Tajikistan has dropped one spot to 108th place, while Kyrgyzstan fell five positions to rank 105th. Turkmenistan, however, made significant progress, climbing six spots to secure 77th place.
The United States maintained its leadership in the ranking of the worldʼs top ten strongest armies. Russia and China are in the following positions. India, South Korea, Great Britain, France, Japan, Turkey, and Italy complete the top ten.
The Global Firepower ranking is a critical measure of military strength and capabilities. Uzbekistanʼs improved standing reflects its growing defense potential and the increasing recognition of its armed forces internationally. This is important in ensuring the nationʼs security and defense capabilities.
