Uzbekistan sends more than 169 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Under the President of Uzbekistan's directive, another humanitarian convoy carrying 169.4 tons of essential food supplies for the Afghan people was delivered to the Balkh province of the neighboring country through the Hairatan border crossing point.
According to the press service of Surkhandarya regional government, 48 tons of flour, 48 tons of wheat, 15 tons of vegetable oil, 10,080 pieces of canned meat, 22 tons of pasta, 24 tons of sugar, and 100,000 pieces of instant noodles were included in the humanitarian aid.
In this regard, the humanitarian aid handover ceremony took place in the territory of the Astras company in Hairatan with the participation of Surkhandarya region governor Ulugbek Kasimov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Erkin Khamrayev, and Afghanistan's Balkh province governor Muhammad Yusuf Wafo and other official representatives of the two countries.
“The Uzbek people, as brothers, have always wanted peace and tranquility to prevail in the land of Afghanistan. They have consistently offered help to the Afghan people, demonstrating unwavering support and selflessness . We appreciate such friendly relations and extend our gratitude on behalf of our people," stated Muhammad Yusuf Wafo, the governor of the Balkh province.
