Uzbekistan recognized as the safest country in Central Asia
Uzbekistan was recognized as the safest country in Central Asia according to the "Numbeo" portal’s latest ranking for the first half of 2024. This ranking places Uzbekistan ahead of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Uzbekistan ranked 120th out of 146 countries in the crime and safety indexes. The country achieved a crime index of 29 points and a safety index of 71 points, marking it as the regional leader in safety.
Other Central Asian countries, specifically Kazakhstan scored 45.6 on the crime index and 54.4 on the safety index, while Kyrgyzstan scored 54.1 and 45.9, respectively. Turkmenistan and Tajikistan were not included in this ranking.
The "Numbeo" portal, considered the world's largest database on cities and countries, compiles such rankings based on the opinions of residents and visitors’ feedback. It collects data on various factors such as crime rates, healthcare, cost of living, and traffic conditions, providing a comprehensive overview of living conditions worldwide.
