Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Indonesia
Uzbekistan's newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Indonesia, Oybek Eshonov, has arrived in the Indonesian capital, as reported by Dunyo news agency.
Oybek Eshonov is 57 years old. He graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Eshonov previously served as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Israel from 2008 to 2017. Before his new appointment, he headed the Department for Cooperation with South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Fluent in both Persian and English.
Oybek Eshonov has been appointed as Uzbekistan's new Ambassador to Indonesia, succeeding Ulugbek Rozukulov, who held the position from 2018 to 2022 and has now taken on the role of chairman of the board at Uzavtosanoat JSC.
