Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Sign Historic Documents Aimed at Developing Allied Relations
Following the high-level talks, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed a Treaty on Allied Relations.
In addition, a ceremony for exchanging bilateral documents took place in the presence of the heads of state.
Overall, during the visit, 28 documents spanning nearly all areas of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were signed, in particular:
– Agreement on cooperation in industry;
– Agreement on cooperation in industrial property protection;
– Agreement on cooperation in certification of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel;
– Agreement on scientific cooperation between the Academies of Sciences;
– Protocols amending agreements on state border checkpoints, international road and air transportation;
– Protocol on cooperation in veterinary medicine and food safety;
– Protocol on cooperation between agencies for the development of competition and protection of consumer rights;
– Roadmaps for cooperation in culture and tourism, for further development of cooperation in agriculture;
– Cooperation agreements and roadmaps for 2024-2026 between Andijan, Namangan, Syrdarya, Fergana, Khorezm regions and Sughd region, between Kashkadarya region and Khatlon region, as well as other documents.
