Uzbek schoolgirl wins gold medal in German Language at Olympiad in Germany

Rayona Ibrahimova, a schoolgirl from Uzbekistan, won a gold medal at the World German Language Olympiad held in Göttingen, Germany. This was reported by the prominent German publication Deutsche Welle.
Over 100 participants from 62 countries competed in the event, which took place from July 15 to 22. Rayona shared first place with Mahek Khan from Bangladesh and Ana Kotevska from North Macedonia, who achieved the same results.
The tournament was organized by the Goethe Institute, and silver and bronze medals were awarded to participants from Mexico, Italy, Slovakia, Poland, and the United Kingdom. The final round of the Olympiad included more than 100 competitors aged 14 to 17.
It was noted that Ibrahimova succeeded in various tasks, including creating an online page in German, delivering presentations, and working in a group, which earned her recognition from the judges. The report mentioned, "16-year-old Rayona plans to study the German language at one of the universities in Germany and pursue a career in translation."
The World German Language Olympiad, held every two years, is designed to promote the study of the German language in schools globally.
Earlier, it was reported that a new American University of Technology will be established in Tashkent, following a resolution by the President.
