The Government Resolution (No. 676, 30.10.2020) approved the Regulation on the procedure for awarding the President with the Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi International Prize.  This was reported by the "Legal Information" channel.

 According to the statute, this award is awarded individually to scientists (including foreign nationals and stateless persons) who have proposed a solution to a particular problem in practice based on the results of fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of mathematics.

 The award is given once every 2 years by the President on the proposal of the Republican Council for Science and Technology (Council) in the following 3 areas:

 - Research in the fundamental field;

 - research among young people;

 - Research that provides a solution to the problem in the real sector of the economy.

 Nominations for the award are formed on the basis of regular observations by the Mathematical Society of Uzbekistan and submitted to the Ministry of Innovation Development.

 The Ministry shall, within one month, review the list of nominees and related documents and submit them to the Council for consideration by the end of June of the year in which the award is given.

 The Council will review the documents within 1 month and prepare a nomination and nominate it to the Presidential Administration by August 25 of the year in which the award is given.

 If the nomination is approved, the winners will receive a one-time cash prize equivalent to $ 50,000.

 It will be recalled that this international award was established by the Presidential Decree No. PP-4708 of May 7, 2020.
