Shavkat Mirziyoyev participates in informal meeting of CIS leaders
On December 25, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the CIS leaders in Saint Petersburg.
The event was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, the major outcomes of joint activities for 2024 were summarized, and the priority tasks of multilateral cooperation in the upcoming year were outlined.
The importance of developing joint measures to expand intra-regional trade and cooperation was emphasized, primarily by further eliminating barriers in mutual trade.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects for developing multifaceted partnerships in new areas. This includes establishing engineering schools, implementing digital solutions, and developing internet technologies, big data industry, creative economy, green energy, and peaceful atom.
Additionally, the leaders addressed key issues of enhancing practical cooperation within the CIS framework to tackle shared threats and challenges on both regional and global scales.
