Senate approves Uzbekistanʼs 2025 State Budget: Expenditures to surpass revenues by 51.5 Trillion UZS

During its second plenary session, the Senate discussed and approved the 2025 State Budget Law of Uzbekistan. The Law aims to reduce poverty, improve social sector services, and foster the development of a “green economy.“ The inflation rate is projected to be around 7 percent in the budget.

The Law outlines consolidated budget revenues of 431 trillion UZS, with expenditures reaching 480.5 trillion UZS. The State Budgetʼs revenues are defined at 308.5 trillion UZS and expenditures at 344.8 trillion UZS. It is planned that 52% of budget expenditures, amounting to 177.7 trillion UZS, will be allocated to the social sectors.

The healthcare sector will receive 41.3 trillion UZS, which is 19.8% more compared to 2024. It is planned to allocate 3.6 trillion UZS for ecology and environmental protection measures. Special funds will also be allocated to address social issues in regions and to develop local community infrastructure.

During the discussions, senators emphasized the importance of increasing budget revenues and ensuring efficient use of funds. The governmentʼs measures aimed at advancing education, healthcare, poverty reduction, and environmental protection received high praise from the senators.

The tasks outlined in the law are expected to contribute not only to economic stability but also to improving the well-being of the population. The law was adopted unanimously by the senators.
