On April 28, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the fifth international industrial exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia,“ which opened in Tashkent.

The exhibition held at the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan complex covering more than 18,000 square meters, has brought together over 10,000 delegates from Russia, neighboring Central Asian countries, China, India, and other nations.

The exhibition showcases technological solutions, modern equipment, and finished industrial products from leading companies across various sectors, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, metallurgy, the chemical industry, transport, construction, IT, and more.

While touring the pavilions and displays, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the significant potential for economic cooperation and noted the promising opportunities for developing new business ideas.

He expressed confidence that the forum would help accelerate the launch of major new projects, strengthen long-term partnerships, and expand interregional cooperation.

As part of the event, the President held talks with a Russian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

Manturov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Mirziyoyev.

Discussions focused on the implementation of the agreements and deals reached during President Putinʼs state visit to Uzbekistan in May last year.

Both sides noted the steady growth in trade turnover and progress on significant cooperation projects being implemented through the active involvement of the regions of both countries.

They underscored the importance of expanding trade and economic cooperation, advancing joint projects and programs, and developing coordinated solutions within the framework of the INNOPROM forum.

In a meeting with the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, the parties discussed expanding industrial cooperation among leading enterprises and strengthening active humanitarian exchange.

They agreed to continue active dialogue and promote joint projects in the oil and gas, chemical production, transport, tourism, and other sectors, including within Uzbekistanʼs industrial zones.

In a conversation with Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation, it was noted that cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy is developing rapidly.

Particular attention was given to expanding collaboration in the application of nuclear technologies in agriculture and medicine, as well as to the training of specialists at the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute).

President Mirziyoyev also participated in a roundtable discussion, where regional leaders and top executives from both countries presented concrete plans for implementing joint cooperation projects.
