On March 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on enhancing the support system for talented youth.

The government is implementing wide-ranging measures to foster the development of intellectual potential and comprehensive support for young people. Notable achievements in this regard include the establishment of 14 Presidential schools, 185 specialized schools, and 9 creative schools. The training and assessment systems applied at these schools also have been introduced in 1,500 general education schools. A New Uzbekistan University has been established for gifted graduates.

These initiatives create a foundation for young people to receive world-class education. Now, it is important to guide them properly and assist them in studying at the worldʼs leading universities.

During his February meeting with the youth, President Mirziyoyev proposed several initiatives in this regard. The presentation reviewed the practical and organizational aspects of these initiatives.

Specifically, it is planned to launch an international school from this September. In the first stage, 60 of the most talented boys and girls from 8th-grade graduates will be selected. The curriculum will be based on international standards and will include three blocks: core subjects, specialized disciplines, and courses on leadership and social activity. The academic year will be divided into three terms, lasting 11 months.

Under another initiative of the President, a National Program for preparing young people for entry into American Ivy League universities will be implemented. This six-stage National Program will be adopted for this purpose. This year, 3,000 students will be selected, and 208 mentors from the Presidentʼs and specialized schools will be assigned to them.

Students will attend 3-week intensive courses throughout the year at the Renaissance camp. The top 40 students who show excellent results will be sent to exchange programs at Ivy League universities.

Another critical focus is providing employment opportunities for youth who have studied abroad, ensuring they are placed in relevant fields within Uzbekistan. To address this, it has been proposed to establish a “Community of the Countryʼs Golden Fund” to unite talented youth on a single platform. Benefits, grants, startup programs, and other opportunities will be offered to graduates of foreign universities. Every year, on May 25, an annual congress of the community is planned to discuss reforms in education, programs for gifted youth, and the experiences of foreign universities.

President Mirziyoyev has expressed his full support for these initiatives, stressing the importance of systematically supporting talented young people.

Today, 750 compatriots are studying abroad through the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation. The Head of State instructed to expand these opportunities and improve the foundationʼs activities.
