As part of the Whispers of Wisdom project, produced by international television networks Euronews and CNN, a series of video features dedicated to ten prominent historical figures from Uzbekistan is set to be broadcast. The project is being implemented by theCenter of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, established at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The initiative aims to present the rich intellectual and spiritual heritage that emerged in Central Asia to the international community in a modern format. The video series presents historical events and scholarly legacies in a clear, visual, and analytical manner, making them accessible to a broad audience.

The project is narrated by Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley, whose voiceover is expected to broaden its international reach and make complex historical and scientificthemes more accessible to global viewers.

The series focuses on Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Ahmad al-Farghani, Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, Ibn Sina(Avicenna), Amir Temur, Mirzo Ulughbek, Ali Kushchi, Alisher Navoi, Kamoliddin Behzad, and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. These figures hold a significant place in the history of world civilisation, having played a decisive role in the development of mathematics, medicine, astronomy, philosophy, art, and statecraft.

“The Whispers of Wisdom project is not a story about the past, but a meaningful dialogue with the future. Our task is to bring back to the world the civilisations, personalities, and discoveries that emerged in Central Asia and had a decisive impact on the development of global science, culture, and human thought. Implementing this project is another important step in fulfilling the tasks set by the Head of State,” said Firdavs Abdulkholikov, Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

The project also demonstrates, from a scholarly and cultural perspective, that many of the core ideas of modern civilisation took shape in the regions of the Great Silk Road long before the emergence of European universities, contributing to a reassessment of Central Asia’s role in the progress of humanity.
