Uzbekistan abolishes imports duty on drugs and medical supplies

Imported drugs and medical supplies are exempted from customs clearance fee. Amendments were made to some regulatory legal documents by presidential decree. As it is stated:
From 1 January 2024, the procedure for exemption of imported products from certain countries from mandatory conformity assessment will be cancelled;
From 1 January 2024, changes will be made to the procedure of labeling imported goods in the national language;
From 1 January 2025, the customs clearance fee of 1.2% for the imported drugs and medical supplies is cancelled.
Also, proposals will be developed to provide following for:
Digitization of license issuing process for the imported products until 1 October 2023;
Adaptation of the subsidies system for compensation of transport costs to the requirements of World Trade Organization until 1 January 2024;
Unification of customs duty rates charged for customs clearance fee under "export" and "import" regimes with the requirements of the World Trade Organisation until 1 November 2023.
