Government adopts resolution on orphans and children without parental care
A government resolution, “On the approval of certain regulatory legal documents regarding the placement forms of orphans and children deprived of parental care” has been adopted.
According to the resolution, the following were approved:
Regulations on the procedure for determining guardianship and trusteeship bodies for minors in Uzbekistan;
Regulation on the procedure for adoption of orphans and children deprived of parental care;
Rules for the operation of childrenʼs homes;
Framework for managing mercy homes;
Regulations for small-scale childrenʼs homes.
Starting in 2025, monthly payments to foster parents who take orphans and children deprived of parental care into family care and the costs of providing clothing and footwear for the children will be implemented through funds allocated from the state budget to the National Agency for Social Protection.
Effective February 1, 2025, commissions addressing guardianship and trusteeship for such children at the district and city levels will cease operations.
