“Champion” entrepreneurs list to be formed in Uzbekistan
A presidential decree has outlined the procedure for compiling a list of organizations designated “champion” entrepreneurs.
Under the decree, at least two entrepreneurial entities from each district and city will be included in the list if they have an annual turnover exceeding 10 billion UZS and have created more than 50 jobs.
Additionally, the list will feature businesses in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, and Tashkent City, with a minimum of five companies per area that have an annual turnover exceeding 100 billion UZS and have generated more than 500 jobs. On a national level, businesses with an annual turnover exceeding 1 trillion UZS and creating more than 5,000 jobs will also be included.
The decree further introduces measures to support small businesses and enhance access to financing. By July 1, 2025, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, mechanisms will be introduced to simplify and accelerate the online allocation of microloans to legal entities. As part of a broader initiative to support small businesses, companies employing individuals registered in the Unified Social Protection Registry will receive additional financial incentives. Eligible businesses will be granted 10 million UZS per job created, while those hiring 10 or more employees can receive up to 100 million UZS in working capital loans, available for up to three years at an annual interest rate of 14%.
