Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis meets with the President of Hungary
During her official visit to Budapest, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok.
At the beginning of the meeting, both sides noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary has intensified significantly in recent years, with mutual trust and friendly relations evolving into a strategic partnership.
It was emphasized that the shared historical, traditional, and cultural values that connect the peoples of the two nations play a crucial role in strengthening intergovernmental relations.
The discussion also focused on expanding economic cooperation, developing interregional partnerships, and further enhancing trade relations between the business communities of the two states.
During the talks, it was highlighted that 2026 has been declared the Year of Culture, Science, and Innovation between Uzbekistan and Hungary. The parties exchanged views on organizing a series of major events in both countries as part of this initiative.
In addition, the sides discussed the continued development of interparliamentary cooperation and the implementation of agreements reached at the level of heads of state, aimed at further strengthening bilateral collaboration.
