Uzbekistan’s jewelry exports to reach $300 million

A Presidential Decree titled “On Additional Measures to Support the Jewelry Manufacturing Sector” (No. PQ-207, dated 26.06.2025) has been adopted, as reported by the “Huquqiy Axborot” Telegram channel.
The decree outlines several key objectives, including:
• increasing the annual volume of processed precious metals to 7 tons;
• raising the value of jewelry exports to $300 million;
• reducing the informal trade of precious metals and jewelry by at least 50%.
Under the decree, the following support measures will be provided to entrepreneurs operating in jewelry centers:
• When selling precious metals on deferred payment terms, no interest will be charged on payments made within 90 days. For payments made between days 91 and 180, a 3% annual interest rate will apply;
• Branches of the Uzbekzargarsanoati Association and the State Inspectorate for Precious Metal Assay Control will be established at jewelry centers to offer mobile services.
• Entrepreneurs operating in jewelry centers will receive a 50% discount on the membership fee when joining the Uzbekzargarsanoati Association.
