Uzbekistan to host the World Cup
Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will co-host the FIFA U-20 World Cup. This was announced on the official page of the Uzbekistan Football Association.
“The FIFA Council held its latest meeting today. Among the key items on the agenda was the selection of host countries for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were chosen to jointly host the youth tournament. This competition is regarded as the second most prestigious FIFA event, the World Cup for senior national teams,” the Association said in a statement.
The Uzbekistan U-20 national team has participated in the World Cup four times. The team’s best achievement to date is reaching the quarter-finals.
