Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews presentation on the current state of work and prospects in the field of geology

On January 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on the accomplishments and plans in the geology sector.
Geology is strategically important in providing resources for the country's expanding economy. In recent years, 1 trillion UZS have been allocated annually to the sector, accompanied by the creation of necessary conditions. As a result, 31 thousand square kilometers of new territories were explored.
Facilitating opportunities for the private sector played a key role in attracting investors to mining activities. Presently, investment projects worth 1,7 billion USD are being implemented in the industry.
At the same time, many untapped opportunities remain in the field. There is a potential for the expansion of mines and the scale of their development.
The presentation included information about promising projects, including plans for the ongoing year.
The Head of our state, attentive to the presentation, set tasks to be undertaken in the short and long run, emphasizing the importance of foresight and staying ahead of the curve in this field.
Measures to increase the volume of geological exploration and effectively exploit discovered reserves were also discussed.
There was a particular emphasis on continuing to attract foreign technologies and investments to the industry to enhance the productivity of geological exploration and mining.
Considering the needs of the population, social sphere, and industrial sectors, an increase in coal production by 22% was highlighted. The issue of processing coal preparation waste based on foreign best practices was also touched upon.
