Shavkat Mirziyoyev lays wreath at Islam Karimov Monument

On January 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid tribute to Uzbekistanʼs First President, Islam Karimov, by laying a wreath at his monument in Tashkent.
The solemn ceremony gathered representatives of the Presidential Administration, the chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the government, intellectuals, and public members.
This event signifies that serving the nation is never forgotten and will always be honored. Under President Mirziyoyevʼs leadership, January 30, Karimovʼs birth date, has been established as an annual day of remembrance. A scientific and educational memorial complex has also been established in Tashkent to honor his life and work. Visiting Islam Karimovʼs mausoleum in Samarkand has become a noble tradition during official visits.
This serves as an example and inspiration for future generations. The ceremony reflected reverence and unity. Attendees recited verses from the Quran and offered prayers, recalling Karimovʼs contributions to the country.
Similar memorial events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi.
