New institutions to be established in agriculture and veterinary science
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution on “Measures to Improve the System of Professional Development and Retraining of Personnel in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, and Livestock Breeding” (PQ-420 from 04.12.2024).
Under this resolution, new institutes will be established to support the countryʼs agriculture and veterinary science development. These institutes aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of specialists in these fields.
According to the resolution, the Institute for the Professional Development and Retraining of Agricultural Personnel and the Institute for the Retraining and Professional Development of Educators and Specialists in Veterinary Science and Livestock Breeding will be established. Trainees who complete the courses offered at these institutes will receive state-standard certificates, serving as official documentation of their qualifications.
By January 1, 2025, these institutes will engage international experts and Uzbek nationals who have graduated from foreign higher education institutions. These professionals will play a vital role in enhancing the institutesʼ operations and providing modern education to trainees. The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation will also support local professors and educators in upgrading their qualifications at leading international educational institutions.
The primary mission of these institutes goes beyond merely enhancing professional qualifications. They aim to create modern conditions for conducting scientific and practical research in the fields, thereby contributing to the further development of agriculture and veterinary science. Additionally, these efforts are expected to improve the training system in alignment with international standards.
These newly established institutes, created under the presidential resolution, represent an important step in enhancing the knowledge level of specialists in agriculture, veterinary science, and livestock. This is expected to benefit not only the sector itself but also contribute to the sustainable development of the countryʼs economy.
