Reduction of speed limit to 60 km/h in residential areas resulted in 30% fall in accident rate where cameras were installed.

Urban improvement departments are responsible for road maintenance, winter road maintenance and landscaping in the cities.
During the videoconference meeting with the President's participation, it was stressed that city improvement departments should be provided with special equipment to carry out these tasks on time.
The importance of roadside tree planting works taking into account the natural and climatic conditions of the regions and proper maintenance of planted trees were also noted during the meeting.
The significance of strengthening personal potential of workers in road sector and the training of specialists capable of handling modern equipment were emphasized.
More than 2,500 cameras and radars were installed to record violations so far. The speed limit in residential areas was reduced to 60 kilometers per hour. As a result, the number of road accidents in areas where cameras were installed decreased by 30%.
The necessity of continuing these works, introducing "smart road intersection" and "smart traffic light" control systems more widely were accentuated .
