An important package of documents for the development of Uzbek-Qatar cooperation is adopted
At the end of the high-level talks in the presence of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, 15 bilateral documents aimed at further developing and deepening trade and economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of cooperation were signed
In particular, the following were adopted:
- Agreement between Governments on the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of investments;
- Agreement between Governments for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion from Income and Property Taxes;
- Agreement between Governments on Mutual Assistance in Customs Affairs;
- Agreement between Governments on Cooperation in the field of Labour Relations;
- Agreement between Governments on exemption from visa requirements for diplomatic passports holders;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in Higher Education and Scientific Research;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in Cultural Affairs;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in Trade;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture and Food Security;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Plant Protection and Quarantine;
- Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Sport and Youth Affairs;
- Memorandum of Cooperation between Tashkent and Doha.
An agreement for cooperation programmes between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice, together with an agreement to establish a joint funding platform and priority investment projects for 2023-2025 have also been signed.
