The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) project co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the Noventiq education center, has launched a cybersecurity training program for 70 specialists responsible for information security at government agencies.

This initiative supports the implementation of tasks outlined in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures to Further Strengthen the Fight Against Crimes Committed Using Information Technologies.”

The training program, running from July 14 to August 21, covers three main areas of cyber protection:

Ethical Hacking – Participants will learn how cybercriminals think and operate, studying hacking techniques in depth. The course offers practical training in identifying vulnerabilities through simulations of real-life cyberattacks.

Linux Security – Over 90% of the world’s servers, including web servers, databases, and corporate and government systems, operate on the Linux platform. The training covers system security configuration, access control, logging, and common threats within the Linux environment.

Windows Server Security – Ensuring the stability of server infrastructure. Participants will gain practical knowledge in protecting servers from internal and external threats, configuring security settings, monitoring systems, and preventing digital attacks.

These training areas were chosen deliberately, as they form the foundation of the IT infrastructure on which modern digital services are built.

“To effectively respond to today’s digital threats, specialists need not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. These trainings provide an opportunity to prepare for real-life situations. It is an important step in maintaining the stability and security of digital infrastructure,” said Sergey Sizov, Acting OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan.

The ongoing trainings are part of a broader OSCE initiative aimed at enhancing national capacity to combat cybercrime and protect digital data. These training sessions are conducted within the framework of the OSCE project “Enhancing National Cybersecurity and Countering Threats in the Field of Information and Communication Technologies.” The initiative is designed to improve the professional qualifications of employees in government agencies and introduce international standards and leading foreign practices. This effort forms part of systematic work to strengthen national capacity in the field of information security and ensure that specialists are prepared for modern digital threats.
