Nilu village becomes Surkhandarya’s newest attraction with “Tourism Village” title
By Farhod Esonov/“Xalq So‘zi”. Nilu village, located in the Sariosiyo district, has been officially granted the status of a “Tourism Village.” It becomes the fourth area in the Surkhandarya region to receive this designation.
With its stunning natural landscapes, ancient pilgrimage sites, proximity to the Sangardak waterfall, rich cultural heritage, and welcoming residents, Nilu continues to attract visitors. The village's tourism infrastructure is currently undergoing rapid development.
In the Hisor forestry area, nearly ten lightweight eco-tourism facilities are being built, and 21 family-run guesthouses have been established to accommodate both domestic and international tourists.
A water storage facility worth 3 billion UZS is under construction, funded by the Tourism Committee. More than 15 types of services have been launched in the community. Road infrastructure, telecommunications, and mobile internet quality are being significantly improved. Commercial banks have also installed ATMs. Visitors to Nilu can now relax in the heart of nature, enjoy scenic walks, and reap the benefit of camel milk's healing properties.
To mark the village’s new status, a festive event was held, during which a press tour was organized for media representatives to the Sangardak waterfall and the village of Khonjiza.
