New tunnel to be built at Takhtakoracha pass

At the meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the socio-economic development of Kashkadarya region in Karshi, the officials were instructed to ease the requirements for crossing the Takhtakoracha pass.

Next year, construction of a new tunnel and road will begin at the Takhtakoracha Pass. A 30-kilometer road connecting Samarkand and Shakhrisabz will be repaired together with Chinese investors.

Also, 122.5 million dollars will be allocated for the repair of the 100-kilometer section of the Guzor-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu road through Kashkadarya.

Overall, the task has been set to bring the number of foreign tourists to 500 thousand next year.
