First Lady of Uzbekistan calls for immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip

The people of Uzbekistan are deeply saddened by the hardship and pain suffered by the peaceful people of Palestine, said the spouse of the President of Uzbekistan, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, at the Istanbul Summit.
The First Lady once again voiced Uzbekistan’s firm position on this issue by calling on the parties for an immediate ceasefire and hostilities, to create conditions for the delivery of humanitarian aid to people in difficult situations, and to resolve the conflict only peacefully and diplomatically based on the principle of “two states for two peoples”.
Uzbekistan’s solidarity with the people of Palestine and strong support for their right to create their independent state in accordance with UN resolutions were also noted.
Following the summit, a Declaration of Goodwill was adopted at the meeting of the spouses of the heads of state and government for the Gaza Strip.
