Supreme Court announces list of banned sources and materials in Uzbekistan
A list of internet sources and materials considered to contain extremist religious, terrorist, and radical ideologies and banned from being imported, produced, stored, distributed, or displayed within the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been announced. The Supreme Court provided this information.
As of January 8, 2025, the list includes 1,389 profiles, channels, and materials:
Facebook: 203 profiles and materials;
Telegram: 713 channels, groups, and materials;
Instagram: 226 profiles;
YouTube: 135 channels and videos;
Odnoklassniki: 35 profiles and materials;
TikTok: 44 accounts;
13 websites and specific online materials;
20 books, lectures, and nasheeds.
ʼDear parents and youth! Always protect yourself from falling into the trap of religious fanaticism, extremism, and terrorism. Never let them destroy your life and dreams,ʼ says the Supreme Court press service message.
Under Article 244-3 of the Criminal Code, the illegal preparation, storage, import, or distribution of religious materials can result in fines up to 100 times the basic calculated value or corrective labor for up to three years.
