A center of Uzbek language and culture will be established under the Sankt-Peterburg state university

Presentation of a book which named “Explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language” was held at Sankt-Peterburg state university by the General consulate of Uzbekistan in this region. This was informed by the “Dunyo” information agency.
Deputy rector for International relations Sergei Andryushin, linguists and young researchers attended at the meeting.
First of all, representatives of the General consulate talked about the creation of a book “Explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language” 5 volumes that created by the Institute of Uzbek language, Literature and folklore lexicography of the Academy of sciences of Uzbekistan, and its important aspect in the development of the Uzbek language.
While talking, the sides exchanged opinions on the opening of a center of Uzbek language and culture at Sankt-Peterburg state university. This initiative was warmly welcomed by the leadership of the institution.
– I support opening the center of Uzbek language and culture at our university, – said Sergei Andryushin. – A particular room from the university will be allocated for this center. Also, the opening ceremony of center will be held at a high level.
During the presentation the issues of cooperation in supplying the center with the necessary equipment and literature in the Uzbek language were also discussed.
At the end of event, representatives of the General consulate presented the book “Explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language” to the university.
