Uzbekistan to introduce personalizedlicense plates
A Cabinet of Ministers resolution (No. 562, dated 4 September 2025) has approvedthis change. Car owners in Uzbekistan can now use their names on vehicle license plates, UzA reported.
Starting 1 January 2026, the state unitary enterprise Uzavtomotobelgi will be authorizedto issue “unique” license plates for motor vehicles. These plates may consist of up to six letters and/or numbers and will be allocated through openelectronic auctions, reflecting public demand and preferences.
The regulation specifies that such “unique” license plates must not duplicate existing platesand must not contain meanings that conflict with legislation or moral standards.
