Uzbekistan and Italy collaborate in combating crime

The Ministers of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Italy, Pulat Bobojonov and Matteo Piantedosi held a meeting to enhance sectoral cooperation between the two countries.
This event was held at the invitation of the Italian side as part of the implementation of the "Roadmap" signed during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Italy (June 8-9, 2023).
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Internal Affairs signed between the governments of Uzbekistan and Italy in June 2023 in Rome, as well as the development of cooperation in combating terrorism, drug trafficking, and other forms of transnational crimes. Discussions included developing collaboration on public safety, creating a mechanism for interdepartmental coordination, exchanging experiences in the field of law enforcement, incorporating digital technologies, and expanding multilateral cooperation.
The friendly and constructive meeting identified promising tasks for developing mutual cooperation.
As part of their visit to Italy, the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan gained insight into the activities of the Italian State Police and the National Police Academy.
