Uzbek wrestlers secure first place with 72 medals at the World Kurash Championship
The IX World Kurash Championship for juniors and youth, as well as the III championship for veterans, held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, concluded successfully for Uzbekistan.
According to the results of competitions involving over 150 young athletes from more than 20 countries, Uzbekistanʼs youth national team claimed a total of 32 medals, including 14 gold, 13 silver, and 5 bronze.
In the veteransʼ category, Uzbekistanʼs wrestlers added 4 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze to the medal tally.
Overall, Uzbekistanʼs national team, with 30 gold, 30 silver, and 12 bronze medals, claimed the top spot in the team standings. The subsequent positions were occupied by wrestlers from Mongolia and Turkmenistan, respectively.
Members of Uzbekistanʼs national team returned to Tashkent today.
