The agreement signed with Russia on constructing a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan came into force

On June 26, a meeting was held between the heads of the engineering departments of Uzatom Agency and Rosatom State Corporation. During the meeting, the first headquarters for the construction of a low-power nuclear power plant (LP-NPP) site was established. The Uzatom Agency reported about this.
It has been announced that infrastructure construction for the planned six-block nuclear power plant will commence in the autumn months. The parties discussed initiating construction activities at the designated site within the specified timeframe and addressed the establishment of a construction workers' town equipped with all necessary infrastructure.
A statement confirming the contract's entry into force for the construction of the NPP was also signed with the participation of the Uzatom Agency leadership.
The document was signed by Otabek Amanov, director of NPP Construction Directorate under the Uzatom Agency, and Pavel Bezrukov, Director of NPP Construction Projects in Central Asia at JSC Atomstroyexport.
During the visit of the Russian delegation to the construction site, a meeting was held with Ergash Soliev, the governor of Jizzakh region.
