Another complex surgical procedure successfully performed in Uzbekistan
A woman from Kazakhstan was admitted to the National Medical Center in Uzbekistan with a diagnosis of gonadal vein reflux. Vascular and endovascular surgeons at the center successfully performed an embolization procedure to treat the condition.
Gonadal vein reflux is a condition where blood flows backward in the lower abdomen, often leading to chronic abdominal pain and discomfort in women. Embolization works by sealing the affected vein and redirecting blood flow through healthy vessels.
According to the National Medical Center’s press service, the patient’s blood circulation was restored after the operation, and potential complications were prevented.
It is worth noting that this complex surgical procedure was performed in Uzbekistan for the first time. This is significant, as it now enables patients to receive such treatment without having to travel abroad.
