President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Cinema Palace.
This place was completely renovated in 2021, with all its facilities updated. The large and small halls, an open-air theatre, and a conference hall have all been fitted with modern equipment. Currently, the palace can accommodate 3 thousand spectators.
The President began his visit with a tour of the Museum of Cinema Art of Uzbekistan. Established in 1972, the museum originally served as a museum-archive. Its collection boasts over fifty thousand historical items, including costumes, photographs, and films.
The museum has now been relocated to the Cinema Palace and is open to the public. The first floor showcases Uzbek cinematography's history, founders, and recent achievements. The second floor exhibits costumes from historical films and information about the lives and works of famous cinematographers. It's worth mentioning that everyone who comes here to watch a movie cannot bypass the opportunity to learn about the history of cinema.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked with directors, actors, film experts, and officials responsible for the industry.
"We can say that our national cinema has been experiencing a revival in recent years.  High-quality, modern films appeared. I extend my gratitude to you for this achievement. However, I am also concerned about how we can further develop our cinematography. If we aim to showcase our history globally and boost our national pride, we should primarily utilize cinema to achieve this", the President said.
At the meeting, a project for a film series titled “Living History," developed on the President’s initiative, was presented.
This strategic program is designed for 2024 – 2030. It encompasses a vast period from ancient times to the country’s recent history. The films will cover a broad and diverse range of subjects.
Films will be produced highlighting various historical figures, including the national hero Shirak from the 6th century BC, the legendary statesman Alp Er Tonga, the great military leader Amir Temur, and the Temurid dynasty, the still insufficiently studied Sheibanids, the Karakalpak poet Ajiniyaz, as well as renowned scholars, fighters for national independence, and influential cultural figures.
In executing this project, Uzbekistan filmmakers will collaborate with partners from around the world, including Spain, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Japan, China, Korea, India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.
“We all understand that realizing this program and its ideas will necessitate substantial funding and the involvement of hundreds of talented specialists. Despite the challenges, we are committed to resolving the financial aspects of this significant historical project.
This program will give a powerful impetus to a deep understanding of our glorious past, laying the groundwork for our bold stride into the future. It aims to educate true patriots and pave the way for the Third Renaissance," stated Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the meeting, filmmakers presented their suggestions for creating these films and developing the sphere.
