Jewelry centers to be established in Tashkent, Bukhara, and Namangan

A Presidential Decree "On Measures for Further Development of the Jewelry Industry and Ensuring Its Competitiveness" has been adopted.

According to the decree:
  •In 2024-2026, jewelry centers will be established, in Bukhara, Namangan regions, and two in Tashkent city;
  •necessary infrastructure for business entities will be created in the jewelry centers;
  •by the end of 2025, the annual production volume of jewelry and other items made of precious metals and precious stones will reach 1 billion US dollars and the export figure will reach 100 million US dollars.

Measures will be taken to lease or sell state-owned real estate properties, either as a single property or divided into lots (parts and rooms) to business entities and commercial banks for long-term lease or ownership, with the possibility of installment payments for the establishment of jewelry centers by January 1, 2025.

When selling precious metals to manufacturers in jewelry centers established under the decree with deferred payment conditions:
• Interest will not be charged on payments made within the first 90 days;
• For payments made from the 91st day to the 180th day, a 3% annual interest rate will apply.
