President of Uzbekistan speaks in favor of further developing inter-parliamentary relations with Egypt
On May 30, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razeq.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Senate conveyed the sincere greetings and good wishes of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The discussion focused on advancing the comprehensive partnership and broadening multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt.
The ongoing contacts and exchanges at all levels were acknowledged with satisfaction. There is a notable increase in trade turnover and the number of joint ventures. Moreover, cooperation projects in geology, agriculture, energy, and tourism are being carried out alongside leading companies from Egypt.
The importance of further active development of inter-parliamentary ties, creation of friendship groups in legislative bodies, ensuring parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements at the highest level, and exchange of experience in ensuring the rights and empowerment of women was emphasized.
Special attention was paid to the continuation of practical cooperation within international structures, in particular the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Arab Parliament.
